To visit the Estate and enjoy all that the Peak District has to offer, we have a very comfortable hotel, The Peacock at Rowsley; a holiday cottage in Alpoprt; and a a number of excellent B&Bs run by some of our tenants.

  • The Peacock at Rowsley
  • The Peacock was originally built as a manor house for the Steward of Haddon Hall in the mid 17th Century. It then became a Dower house for the Manners family before becoming a hotel in about 1820.

My father, the 10th Duke of Rutland ran the hotel from 1946 until he sold it in the austere times of the post war 1950s. We bought it back in 2001 and it is now a comfortable and friendly hotel with an excellent restaurant and bar. Fishing on the rivers Wye and Derwent can also be arranged from here.
